Only in the Twilight Zone...
Ok, so I know I've been posting like a madman tonight and if I'm being obnoxious someone just tell me and I'll shut up but my stupid rant about Sam got me thinking and researching. Wormholes can theoretically exist, however they cannot be travelled through for one reason: Event horizons travel one way. Think about it like this, blackhole goes one way: in. However, when two blackholes from different universes cross in the middle (middle? ha! where's the middle of a black hole?) it creates a white hole. Now a traveler from Universe A can travel through the blackhole into the whitehole, as a traveler from Universe B can travel through his blackhole into the same whitehole. Once inside the whitehole, the traveler from A can't get out through B's blackhole and vice-versa. BUT!!! Light can travel into the whitehole from both ends. Recently German scientists found a way to teleport a bit of matter by turning it into light energy and then turning it back into matter on the other side. Now they only made it travel millionths of a millimeter in distance but in another couple hundred years, who knows! So what if Sam decided he wanted to turn into light, travel through a wormhole, and become Sam again on the other side. He could show up in another Universe. Maybe one where Elliot hasn't died....Yet! I don't really mean this as suggestions for the play, I'm just thinking outloud... Or something.

Or what about this! Elliot dies, become light energy because that's what he does when he dies, HE travels through the wormhole, comes out in a similar Universe where its Elliot has died too. Now Elliot comes back to life in his new Universe. Zombie Elliot!.... Ok now I need some sleep. Fucking 4:17...
Danny, can white holes be completely contributed to your fascinating imagination or do they have a foundation elsewhere?
I think that maybe Sam and Noelle and Justin already traveled through the white hole and then other black hole and now they're in this universe where Elliot is dead. And I don't think they can travel back to the other universe (no resurrections in this universe) but maybe they can get back to the white hole somewhere... that place in between the worlds. If Elliot is indeed light, perhaps he is the whiteness of the white hole....
But enough sci-fi for me right now. Back to developing characters...
Actually Whiteholes are theoretically real. All that light that can't escape from a blackhole has to go somewhere and when there's a blackhole on the other side too it gets trapped in the center: a whitehole. 'Twas thought up by a guy named Schwarzschild.
i absolutely love the idea of Sam trying to relieve his pain through astronomy and trying to escape by travelling through a black hole into a white one.
Janis, i realise you probably have the plot fairly set in your mind, but i seriously think you should consider that idea. i think it has potential. of course, i don't nessecarely think sam should actually travel into space, but that he should simply consider it and then by the end find real comfort in his friends.
by the way, you weren't being obnoxious danny.
okay. i'll seriously consider it. white holes sound pretty awesome.
maybe i'll try out a scene between sam and sydney (the girl with the telescope who also happens to know meagan (as in poet) and see what happens when he looks through the scope.
the plot is surprisingly unset. it changes everyday. right now i'm fighting the urge to connect everyone as i did in rain. i'm trying to keep the relationships looser so that the characters can be connected soley by the sky and only come together in the star dimension, or whatever it is called. but it's a challenge... connecting is so much more natural. we shall see.
perhaps sam doesn't look in sydney's telescope until they are in the black or white hole... maybe that's how he figures out where they are...
